On a volume scale from 1 to 10, salespeople have a tendency to be a 12. 🙂
I followed a record-breaking top producer many years ago and was fascinated by what I saw her do. She sold to multi-millionaires. Everyone sat down with her.
Why? Because when she approached these prospects, she lowered her voice to a loud whisper. She was inviting, non-threatening – and she definitely didn’t come across as a salesperson.
After she sat down with each prospect, she returned to her bubbly, outgoing self. I immediately implemented this sales tactic and have never looked back. IT WORKS!!
So if the volume in your voice is a 7 out of 10, lower it to a 3 when you approach new prospects.
